Aaron Allyn
Anderson, Sr.
May 23, 1944 – January 5, 2025
Aaron had his secret place to talk to God. It was in his quiet space, to hear the voice of God say, "come home my son." On January 5, 2025, the Lord closed the eyes of Aaron Allyn Anderson, Sr. and welcomed him to his heavenly home. He was born May 23, 1944 in King William County, the youngest son of the late Everett and Gladys Bradby Anderson. He was preceded in death by his brothers: James Melvin, Leslie (Mary Belle), Henry, Aubrey, Stewart (Alease) and Leon; sister: Marion (Ted) Anderson Lee and his wife Mary.
Aaron joined the Mangohick Baptist Church at an early age. After his marriage to Mary Atlee Lacey and the birth of two sons: Aaron Jr. and Ricky L. he attended his cousin's church, Abundant Life Church located in Mechanicsville, VA. He and Mary later renewed their membership with Mangohick Baptist Church.
His work career included logging timber with his brother, Daniel Anderson. He was employed by Harold Tate as a machine operator in construction. Aaron loved to "fix things" he would take apart riding mowers, push mowers, repair them and put them together again. He would test the hospital bed to see how it operated, and the IV machine until the nurse said "no Mr. Anderson, don't do that!" Aaron, please don't try to "fix things" in heaven, only God can do that. We will truly miss him with his attitude "I can fix it." Aaron, we dearly love you.
Aaron leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Aaron Jr. and Ricky Anderson, grandchildren: Iyana and Izick Hudson, Aaron Johnson and Kamont'e Davis; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Anderson (Betty), two sisters: Loretta Waller and Frances Gwathmey; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Brown, Viola and Maratha Anderson; many nieces, nephews and friends; caregivers: special friend, Cora Daniel, great-niece, Katrandra Gray, sister, Frances Gwathmey, brother, Daniel Anderson. Special thanks to nurse Venise Smith, Serenity First Hospice.
