Alma Mae Jackson Mallory entered eternal rest Thursday morning August 11, 2022. Alma, the fourth of seven girls was born May 8, 1934, to the late Robert and Nello Wyatt Jackson.
She was preceded in death by four sisters Mamie Goodman, Bernice Cox, Pauline Jackson and Josephine Tate.
She received her early education at the Mt. Zion Grade School and graduated from Louisa Training School in 1952. Following the Christian guidance of her Parents, Alma accepted Christ and was baptized into the membership of Mt. Zion by the Late Rev. R. J. Robertson in August 1942. She remained a faithful member until the end. Her church affiliations included past usher, member of the Sr. Choir, Gospel Chorus member in which her favorite lead song was "I Trust in God", Hospitality Committee, helped organize Jr. Missionaries and Jr. Choir, Sunday School member.
On April 9, 1955, Alma was joined in Holy Matrimony to Roy E. Mallory who predeceased her. To this union 6 children were born: Armistine, Della, Robbie, Baby Boy Mallory (deceased at birth), Marvin and Andrea.
Alma was a very compassionate person who served as an exemplary role model for her family. She lived a life devoted to a pattern of good works, a faith in Christ and unselfish service and never boasted about what she did. She was actively involved in her children's lives whether in church, school, sports or community activities and instructed her children to live glorified lives. Her favorite pastime included working in her flower garden, sitting on the porch, watching birds, spending time with the grandchildren whom she dearly loved, and cooking. She spent a lot of time reading and studying the Bible. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 27.
She particularly enjoyed Sunday evenings sitting on the porch with her entire family and always a visit from Roger Nelson to join them.
Alma leaves to cherish her memories that will bless and enrich them forever f ive devoted children Armistine Cassell (Clyde), Della Nelson (Kenneth), Robbie Cosby (Thomas), Marvin Mallory (Jane), and Andrea Phillips (Kennedy); eight loving grandchildren Sean (Laura), Chanel, Monique (Milton), Torey (Fiancé Travis), Megan, Travis, Monica (Kevin) and Logan; s ix great grandchildren Cayse, Cameron, Elaina, Christian, Jace and Kendal; two devoted sisters Lillian Morris (Daries) and Bertha Gardner, nieces (devoted Mildred Fife and Brenda Anderson), nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends too numerous to name; two devoted care givers, Amy Robinson and Angela Wilcox.
