Born in Ellerson Virginia September 12, 1929, Andrew (Boo, Andy & Andy B) Louis Bagby was the 13th child of 15 children of the late Joseph C. and Dora Bagby. He was called from labor to reward at Regional Memorial Hospital, Mechanicsville, Virginia on January 30, 2023.
He accepted Christ at the early age of 11 at Pleasant Grove Baptish Church in Mechanicsville, Virginia. He graduated Hanover County Training Academy School and later attended; Richmond Professional Institute (VCU) majoring in Electricity and Business Administration; John Marshall High School night classes (Business) Virginia Union University 5 years – Church Administration
Andrew married Carliese Nanny Freeman on October 18, 1949. Andrew was a part of the following activities: Trustee Board, Pleasant Baptist Church Hanover Vocational Education Board (Member of Advisory Council – 1984-1988) Usher Board (Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 50 years),
Hobson Lodge Member, Freelancers Couples Club, Thursday Evening Card Club, Hobson Retiree Club and Trustee Farmer (his passion).
He was a man of many talents and gave freely of his farming harvest and time. He gave so much to so many. Family was everything to him.
Andrew's work history included: Phillip Morris 1964-1970; Private Contractor (owned and managed for 6 years as a Master Electrician); Restaurant Owner (Moving Star Inn, Mechanicsville, Virginia) 1964-1982; Phillip Morris, Inc. 1976-1993 retired after 17 years.
Andrew leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Louise A. Wilkerson and Michael D., Maxwell (his only grandson); one sister Zanderine Smith (Burton); one brother-in-law Harold Freeman (Louise) one sister-in-law Laura Freeman, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. He also leaves to cherish his memory and devoted companion Normie Cameron
