Hanover
Angela Gray Howard was born on July 5th, 1969, to the late George A. Howard III and Laura Gray Shelton-Howard. She was raised in Hanover County, Virginia, alongside her two brothers, George Alexander Howard IV and Michael Scott Howard.
Angela received her education through Hanover County Public Schools and graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1988. During the early 1990s, she participated in the Special Olympics, an experience that was an important part of her younger years. Throughout her life, Angela held jobs within the community, including positions with Dabney's Restaurant and McDonald's.
Angela enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved music, dancing, watching movies, and talking on the telephone with those closest to her. She was especially devoted to her family and shared a close relationship with her mother, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Angela was preceded in death by her father, George A. Howard III, and her dear friend Brenda Coleman. She leaves to cherish her life and memory her devoted mother, Laura Gray Shelton-Howard; her brothers, George Alexander Howard IV (Tess) and Michael Scott Howard (Shanetta); nieces and nephews, Avantay (LaVon), Amari, Alaina, Michael Alexander, Gabrielle, and Landon; great-nephews, Khristian and Korey; and a host of extended family members.
Angela also leaves to cherish her memory her devoted friends, Sterling Valentine, Cindy Curtis, Dorothy Fox, Missy Hunton, Robinette Allen, and Anthony Allen, along with many others whose friendship and companionship were meaningful throughout her life.
The family gratefully acknowledges Goochland Powhatan Community Services, Consumer Direct Care Network, Deborah Mines and FAMS Facilitation Services, Jessica Real and Hanover County Community Services, as well as her uncle and aunt, Melvin and Valecia Amos, for the care and support provided to Angela over the years.
