Obituary

Chandler, Annie Bell Smithers, 75 of Henrico, Virginia transitioned peacefully from labor to reward, surrounded by family on Sunday, on August 17, 2014. Annie was raised in Caroline and Hanover Counties and resided in Henrico County, Virginia at the time of her death. She is preceded in death by her parents, Daisy Fells Smithers, Lonnie Bell Smithers and Esau H. Smithers; daughter Arethea A. Coles Esq. brothers Harry L. Smithers, Charlie Smithers, Melvin (Randy) Smithers and sister Rosilyn Smithers. Left to cherish her precious memory are her loving husband, Andrew Chandler; daughters Allison Coles-Johnson (Charles), Adriene Ellis (Kevin), Andrea Arthur (Kenrick); son, Anthony Coles; stepdaughters, Anglique Chase, Pandora Cosby (Leslie); brother, Turner Smithers; sisters Connie Cauthorne, Barbara Spurlock, Geraldine Chandler (Walter) and Sharon Smithers; aunts Margaret Lewis and Virginia Edwards; fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 North Washington Highway, Ashland, Virginia 23005, where a viewing will be held Friday, August 22 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, August 23 at Second Mount Zion Baptist Church, Hanover, Virginia; Reverend Marvin Fields, Pastor.
