Obituary

Antjuan Tyree Coles-Fisher, affectionately known as "Tjuan," was born on February 6, 1981, to the late Deborah Coles and Micklos Fisher. He departed this life on March 14, 2026, at Memorial Regional Hospital in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

From an early age, Antjuan discovered his passion for cooking and serving others; a calling that shaped both his career and his life's purpose. After graduating from Patrick Henry High School in 1999, he pursued his dream at Johnson & Wales University in Norfolk, Virginia, where he earned an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Food Service Management.

Antjuan's professional journey reflected both his talent and dedication. He began his career as a Sous Chef at The Painted Lady Tea Room, while also giving back as a substitute teacher. He expanded his culinary experience internationally while working as a Sous Chef with Norwegian Cruise Lines. In this role, he helped oversee large-scale dining operations, contributing to the preparation of up to 10,000 meals daily and managing both deck dining services and room service operations.

Upon returning home, Antjuan continued his commitment to service as Executive Chef and Production Manager for Feed More Central Virginia Food Bank's Meals on Wheels program in Richmond, Virginia. There, he combined his culinary expertise with his deep compassion for the community, ensuring that thousands received nourishing meals.

Antjuan fulfilled a lifelong vision by founding Ashland Catering Company in Ashland, Virginia. More than a business, it was a space rooted in community, connection, and care. He often said that Ashland Catering Company "was not just his, it was everybody's," reflecting his belief in bringing people together through food and fellowship.

Antjuan remained devoted to his craft throughout his life. He briefly returned to work with a cruise line and continued working in various kitchens until his passing. He always did what he loved, cooking and serving others. He also shared his knowledge by teaching cooking classes, inspiring others to discover joy in the culinary arts.

Known for his creativity and resourcefulness, Tjuan had a remarkable ability to create delicious meals from whatever ingredients were available. He had a deep love for gardening and took pride in incorporating fresh, homegrown produce into his dishes.

Antjuan leaves to cherish his memories his father, Micklos Fisher and stepmother, Adell Fisher; 9 siblings, Marcus (Takeya), LaGreasha (Roger), Jason (Mary), Rhonda (Jamaal), Constance, Tyret, Alisa, Walter (Cierra) and Lynnell. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

We thank everyone for their prayers and concern for our family during this very difficult time.
