Beatrice Goode Downs was born to the late Victoria Perry Goode and Sam Goode in Richmond, Virginia on March 21, 1948.  She received her education from Virginia Randolph School in Glen Allen, Virginia and the Richmond Technical Center where she became an LPN.  She was a career LPN/Private Duty Nurse until she retired.

She was a member of Cedar Street Baptist Church.  She was a lover of jazz music, she loved to cook, read, and play the piano.  She loved shopping at thrift stores and yard sales.

Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory one son, O. Leon Downs; one daughter, Priscilla Nicole Downs; two sisters, Irene Edwards and Patricia Smith (Horace); three brothers, Norman Goode (Constella), Dennis Goode, and Darius Goode; and a host of nieces and nephews.
