Obituary

Berkeley Lee Jackson of Bumpass, VA was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2022.  He was born May 11,1937 to parents James B. and Amanda M. Jackson in Bumpass, VA, both of whom have preceded him in death.
Berkeley, affectionately known as "Bunn" or "Bunny" accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a faithful and dutiful member.
Berkeley married Millie Mae Thomas, who preceded him in death, and from this union 6 children were born: Thomas, Albert, Charles (deceased), Anthony (deceased), Terry (deceased), and Jennifer.
Berkeley attended Louisa County Public Schools and later went to work for Richmond Ford where he was fondly known as "Billy".  He retired after 59 years of unwavering service and in recognition and appreciation for his devotion, the customer lounge was renamed to the "Billy Jackson Customer Lounge" which includes a plaque with his photo.
Bunn loved his family dearly and took on the role of family patriarch to his children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.  He also enjoyed watching his westerns, hunting, and  was a devoted Mason of Louisa Lodge 113.  Berkeley also served as a deacon at Mt Zion Baptist Church in addition to serving as the president of the Usher Board for many years.  He was very social, outgoing and could connect with just about anyone.
Berkeley was also preceded in death by 7 siblings: William, Lois Ann, Horace, Henry "Meatboy" Jackson, Bernard "Beaver" and Leonard "Tom" Houchens, and Amanda "Pattie" Smith; 1 son in law, Henry Bishop
He leaves to cherish his memory, sons Thomas Jackson and Albert Jackson, daughter Jennifer Bishop; 2 nephews he reared, Cleveland Rayfield Mallory (Elbertanna) and Cecil Mallory; 9 grandchildren, Tiffany Parashar (Fayeahad), Brittany Gidarisingh (Victor), Shamika White, Aaron Mallory (Samona), Christopher Chambliss, Bria Moore, Nicholas Jackson, Karl Vincent Igelhart and Franchel Iglehart; 4 sisters, Maude Ragland (Harold), Marian Jackson, Barbara "Gee Gee" Alston (Alvin), Myrtle "Boe Cat" Houchens; 2 brothers, James "Nick" Jackson (Isadore) and Lawrence "Till" Houchens; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
