Calvin Braxton, born on August 6, 1956, was the fourth of six children born to [the late] Thomas [Junius] and Arlene Fells Braxton. Calvin attended Sunday School and Church at a young age at Second Mount Zion Baptist Church and later, accepted Jesus Christ. He attended school in Caroline County, Virginia. Calvin was known for helping people and worked on many houses and cars in his neighborhood. He had a wonderful sense of humor and the ability to make people smile. After 28 years of courtship, Calvin and Nadine Gilliens were joined in holy matrimony. Calvin and Nadine have many children and grandchildren. He touched the lives of many people.
Calvin will be remembered for his love of people, humor, and ability to talk to and accept anyone that came across his path. He loved talking to and joking with family and friends and was always there to help those in need. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Nadine, children: Shaun Braxton (Antoinette), Kimberly Johnson, Thomas Johnson, stepchildren: Robert Gilliens (Tameca), Shauna Gilliens (Tylus), Ericka Glasco, Shera Glasco, and Keisha Johnson, devoted grandson: Dizindre Gilliens, 22 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild (and one on the way), two sisters: Kathy Foster and Tammy Young, one foster-sister: Jacqueline Young, two brothers: Reverly (Charlotte) and Alton (Rita), two sisters in law: Jane Braxton and Lorene Jackson, two uncles: Harvey Fells and Munroe Jackson, three aunts: Sarah James, Idealia Johnson, and Margaret Lewis, dedicated nephew: Delvin Mines, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
