Carl Jerome
Coleman
August 20, 1955 – May 2, 2023
Carl Jerome Coleman , departed this life peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on August 20, 1955 in Richmond, Virginia to the Late Eva (Celie) Coleman and Warren Curtis Gordon. He was preceded in death by his Sister, Patricia Coleman and his Brother, Warren Coleman.
Carl joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church during his childhood years. He attended Hanover County Public Schools where he graduated from Patrick Henry High School.
Carl was a GOOD MAN with a loving heart! He lived his life with the four L's! He Laughed, Loved, Looked and Learned! He learned how to do things by watching what you did not what you said! He enjoyed the simple things of life and it didn't take much to make him happy. He loved his family, loved kids, his nieces and nephews, especially his Niece Kenisha Coleman. He was a devoted Brother, Uncle, Cousin and friend and his memories will never end. Carl also loved his music! One of his favorite songs was "Patches". Not sure if his Dad told him as the song says "I'm depending on you Son to pull the family through". Well, that's what Carl did! His family could definitely depend on him! Whenever someone needed a ride he was always available. Not only did he love his family and music, he also enjoyed watching Science Fiction movies on TV and he LOVED his job! Carl was a dedicated and dependable worker of The Hollow's Golf Club. Upon his graduation from high school he worked there his entire life until his health failed. He was as dependable as your mail person. Neither rain, sleet, snow nor heat would keep him from going to work! So, we want to thank The Hollow's Family for accepting and treating Carl as family! He loved his work family! Even if he wasn't supposed to be at work, he went over just to talk! What makes this so funny is Carl didn't even like talking, but he loved being in their presence! So thank you to our Hollow's family!
Carl leaves to cherish his memory, two devoted sisters: Wanda Trice (James, Sr.) and Deborah Fletcher (Leigh, Sr.) and one devoted brother: Tracy Coleman. Four Nieces Kenisha Coleman, Jamie Robinson(Sam), JaWanda Trice and Brittany Underwood(Joe); two devoted Nephews: James Trice, Jr. and Leigh Fletcher, Jr.: four great nephews: Tyler Mitchell, Blake Robinson, Trent Robinson, and Milo Underwood; two great nieces: Jada Coleman and Mila Underwood; one great-great Nephew: Chase Coleman Grant; one devoted Aunt: Esther Davis(James) and a devoted Aunt/Cousin Goldie DeBorous and his ride or die partner his devoted Cousin Timothy DeBorous; and devoted friend Preston Hatfield. A host of other cousins, family and friends!
