We joyously remember and celebrate the life of Carlton Leroy Smithers, who departed this life peacefully on January 23 ^rd 2021 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA. Carlton was born on January 16 ^th 1971 in Richmond, VA to Deacon Lewis and Adell Smithers of Ruther Glen, VA. He was the oldest of two siblings and accepted Christ at an early age with Second Baptist Church of Ruther Glen, VA.

Carlton was educated through Caroline County Public schools where he learned his passion for barbering through the cosmetology program and detailing cars in his spare time, through these talents he became known as "A True Jack of All Trades" in the community but simply known to his family as "Pooh-Pooh" and "Cotton." Carlton was always so full of life, he had the biggest heart and would bring joy and smiles to all who had the pleasure of getting to know him.

Carlton's proudest moment in life was becoming a father and he leaves to cherish his memory through his daughter Kendra Janae Armstead, his Mother and Father Lewis and Adell Smithers, Siblings Tracey and Latoya Smithers, two nieces Caidryn and Cayla Green, significant other K'Tia Hicks, and devoted friends Keith Moore, Rodney "FatCat" Shepherd, and Andre "Buck" Buckner and a host of many more family and friends that will continue to cherish his memory.
