Catherine Lenora Sims-Jackson affectionately known as Kat was born on November 9, 1957 in Caroline County, Virginia, to Tillman and Ellen Sims in addition to being reared by Ruth Sims. She transitioned peacefully to her eternal rest on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Catherine attended Caroline County Public Schools. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and was a longtime member of Jericho Baptist Church, Ruther Glen, Virginia.

Catherine was united in marriage to Preston Jackson on November 23,2015.

Catherine was a superb Chef that cooked with lots of love and every meal would express that.Catherine was also a hard and devoted worker, who last worked at Dollar Tree, where all her co-workers and customers loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Preston Jackson and three brothers. Carlton "Cowboy" Sims, Emanuel Sims, and Tyrone "Bobby" Shepherd.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memories and awesome daughter Shavon (Sterling) Wood and an amazing son Emanuel Sims. Six grandchildren, Niayah, Jermaine, London, Emanuel Jr, Elijah and E'lana. Sisters, Ethel "Sweetsy" Freguson, Claudia "Bootsy" Christian, Glenda (Allen) Richardson, and brothers Juwan "Dave" (Ayanna) Sims and Alonzo "Lonnie" (Marie) Sims, her cousins who were like brothers and sisters, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends (too many to mention).

Catherine "Kat" will be greatly missed by many.
