Charles Clinton Banks, more affectionately known as "Cookie", departed this life on May 1, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Cookie was born on January 10, 1960 in Caroline County, Virginia to the late Willie Boy Banks and the late Audrey Lee Banks, both of Caroline, Virginia. He spent his childhood in Caroline County and attended the Caroline County public school system. He was a loving father, son, brother, cousin, and friend. Cookie was a hard worker that never let sickness or any other obstacle prevent him from getting a job done. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Blakemore Construction in Rockville, Virginia for the past 17 years. Cookie had a heart of gold with an infectious sly grin that lit up any room he walked into. He loved to go fishing, listen to music, play horseshoes, and was unbeatable at corn hole. He was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins and was always proud to represent for the burgundy and gold.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Boy Banks and Audrey L. Banks, and one brother, Kevin L. Banks, all of Caroline, Virginia. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Rochelle A. Martin (Colonel) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, two sons, Charles C. Tillery (Alysia) of Norfolk, Virginia, and KeVi'tae J. Rousey (KJ) of Henrico, Virginia, two grandsons, Linden I. Tillery and Lennox R. Tillery, both of Norfolk, Virginia, two brothers, Willie A. Banks of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Michael A. Banks of Caroline, Virginia, one sister, Patricia A. Waddill (Edward) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, two uncles, Clarence Smith, and Milton Banks, both of Caroline, Virginia, three aunts, Lillie Mae Banks of Caroline, Virginia, Ruth Wiley (Wendell) of Washington, D.C., and Dorothy Lue Brown of Caroline, Virginia, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
