Christopher Lorenzo
Jones, Sr,
February 14, 1962 – January 14, 2022
On Friday January 14, 2022, a limb fell from our family tree. Our beloved Christopher Lorenzo Jones Sr. entered this world on Feb 14, 1962. He was preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Cornelius, stepfather Milton Cornelius Sr., and brother Angelo Jones Sr.
Chris grew up in Doswell, VA. He attended Hanover County Public Schools and finished his education at Flatwood Job Corps in Coeburn, VA. There he gained his mechanic skills that he used to help many of his family members. He never hesitated to share his skills and knowledge with those around him.
Chris accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Providence Baptist Church in Ashland, Virginia with his late uncle, Deacon Lloyd Jones in his teenage years.
In 1982, he met the love of his life, Celeste Heiskill affectionately known as Bay. On May 14, 1983, the two became one and they shared 38 years of true unconditional love.
Chris had four beautiful children that he loved and adored. He had no problem sharing life lessons with them. The children had a great love for their dad. Chris held his grandchildren near and dear to his heart. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for them. His home was their home, literally.
Chris began his career as a truck driver. Throughout his career his favorite place of employment was with PODS, which was his second family for 16 years. He was so devoted no matter the occasion you probably never saw him without his uniform on. We often wondered if he had any other attire other than his PODS uniform or Dallas Cowboys' jerseys. As we all know, Chris was a TRUE die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Everyone knew if they won it was party time, but if they lost, lose his number, and don't call back until next week.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Celeste, two sons Christopher and Christian Jones, two daughters Crystal Teal (Darnell) and Makaylah Jones; five grandchildren Dontrell, Donzell, Donyell, Delnasia, and Christasia; three brothers Tony, Gregory, Milton Cornelius Jr. (Maggie); three sisters Tina Blathers (Alrick), Kim Hodges (Larry), Robin Covington (James), sister-in-law Bessie Heiskill; a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; his devoted friends were Willie (Willie-Will) Williams and the rest of his PODS family, Carolyn (Cookie) Mills, and Gerald Williams Sr.
