Clarissa V. (Clara) Fields was born on December 14, 1929, to the late Richard and Ruth Simms. She was the fifth child of nine children born to this union. She entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Autumn Care of Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Clara attended Caroline County Public Schools. She joined the St. Luke Baptist Church at an early age. Clara entered holy matrimony to Timothy Fields, Sr. on February 8, 1947. Of this union were born two sons Timothy Fields, Jr., and the late Carl Roosevelt Fields.

Clara retired years ago from her position as a head chef at a local restaurant after more than 30 years.  Clara loved her family and God's people. When her health allowed it, she loved cooking for others at her home. She emphasized keeping her house neat and clean.

She was preceded in death by her husband Timothy Fields, Sr. and her son Carl R. Fields.

Clara leaves to cherish her precious memories a beloved son Timothy Fields, Jr.; a daughter-in-law Emma Fields; a grandson Dr. Stephen Timothy Fields; three sisters-in-law Irene Clarke, Earlene Fields, and Geraldine Fields; a brother-in-law Charles Dodson; a sister-in-law Gloria Fields; adopted son and daughter Wesley and Louise Dodson; nieces Mabel Smithers, Geneva Greene, Marion Simms, and Joan Simms; nephews, Richard Simms and Marvin Simms; a devoted friend Linda Green; and a host of other relatives and friends.

We thank God for allowing you to be a blessing to us. We are blessed by your having more than 91 years here on Earth. We look forward to seeing you in Heaven!
