Obituary

Clyde Ellis Foster of Ruther Glen, VA ran his race well and finished it on November 5, 2015 at his residence. He was born on March 13, 1954 in Richmond, VA. Clyde was the son of John Foster and mothers; Aretha Ross-Foster (deceased) and
Lena Jackson-Ross. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Jackson.
Clyde was educated in the Caroline County school system and graduated from Bowling Green Senior High School in 1972. Post-graduation, he received several certifications in leadership and management.

Clyde connected well with people and always sought employment where he would interact with the public; from the early years of filling vending machines at Jarrell's Trucking Plaza to shop management, and later a mechanic at Petro and Penske.

Clyde married Kathy Braxton on September 23, 1974 and there was no turning back, because 41 years later, they were just as in love and devoted to one another.

Clyde was full of life and enjoyed laughter. We knew when he "was in the house" because his laughter met you at the door. He had so much love for his family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to attend a family event.

They loved to travel and one of their favorite vacations was taking a flight to California, where they rented a camper and drove to Arizona, Utah and New Mexico. Having a love for food, they stopped and enjoyed the local cuisine. Clyde's favorite dessert was ice cream. We can hear him saying, "what flavor do you have" (it really did not matter) because he would say, "YES; give me a little bit".

Clyde was baptized at an early age and joined Reedy Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a Deacon and Trustee of the Deacon Board. Clyde was blessed with a gift of song. When he sang a song of praise, it was his way of worshipping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One thing that we know; it is one thing to sing, but it is another thing to sing under the anointing. When he opened his mouth you know that all honor and glory was to the Lord.
On Thursday, November 5, 2015, the Chief Shepherd appeared and said, "come with me Clyde to receive your unfading crown of glory". Our hearts were deeply saddened in the loss of our loved one, Clyde Ellis Foster, but peace filled our spirit to know there was no more physical pain because healing and restoration had come through eternal reward.
Treasured memories of his life will remain with his loving mother, Lena Ross; devoted, committed and faithful wife, Kathy; son, Kevin; daughter, Stacy; grandchildren: Tyjae, Diamond, Anthony & Johntay; sisters: Betty (Alton), Barbara (Emilio), Doris (Ronald) and Robin (James); uncle, Charlie Ross; brother-in-law's: Reverly (Charlotte), Calvin (Nadine), Elvis (Jane) and Alton (Rita); aunts, nieces, nephews, his lifelong friend, Robert (Bobby) Ferguson whom he thought of as a brother, other relatives, and friends.
