Obituary

Curtis Jahmal Peatross entered this life June 2, 1980; affectionately known as "Byrd." He was born to the late Charlene and Curtis Peatross.

At an early age, Curtis J. Peatross (Byrd) accepted Christ and became a member of St. Luke Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia. He received his education from Caroline County Public School System. He went on to San Antonio, TX and became a Licensed CDL Driver.

In his teen years, he could be found at the Racetrack; where he developed a passion for racing. He was often seen throughout the neighborhood on "2 wheels". He soon began driving his Father's race car, but his love for racing motorcycles was unmatched. He absolutely had to have a "bike". Byrd also spent a generous amount of time repairing vehicles and other electronics. He could assemble anything without the use of instructions. He was a fantastic cook and storyteller, often sharing his meals and stories with family and friends during the Holidays.

Byrd loved Go-Go and R&B music. He played his music loud, and would always have just the right song to bring you instant happiness. He was known as the life of the party. He would always take family functions and gatherings to the next level. He had a heart of gold, and his amazing personality "shined", everywhere he went. He would always say "Live Life", and he truly enjoyed every moment.

Byrd entered Holy Matrimony with Temeka Coleman on April 29, 2015. They shared a beautiful blended family and a Pit bull Terrier known as his best friend and companion "Damu". Curtis and Temeka loved taking elaborate trips, always including family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charlene Viola and Curtis Eric Peatross; Grandparents Lewis and Shirley Peatross; and Charlie Ross. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Temeka Coleman Peatross; his loving children, Jahmal Peatross, Jaida Peatross, JaQuan Peatross and Chloe Peatross. Bonus children; Zhana Baudum (Derrick), Christian Coleman, Journee Coleman, and Raja Adams. Two Grandsons, Ace Baudum and Christian Miller. His faithful and loving Sister, Morishita Armstead. His "Byrd can do no wrong" Grandmother Viola Ross; Mother in love Patricia Coleman. His "A1 from Day 1" Uncle Daryl Peatross (Alicia); Aunts: Ruth Quash (Raymond), Diana Green (Roy). Two neices Charlynd Armstead and Scotlynd Peatross-Freeman and a host of other relatives and friends.
