Cynthia Winston-Pryor was born Cynthia Laverne Winston on January 14, 1952 to the late Harold P. and Margaret Winston. She departed this life on November 17, 2020. She was raised in Louisa County and attended Louisa County Public Schools. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where she remained faithful until her death. Cynthia served in many capacities as a member of multiple choirs and the head of youth ministries over a period of 60 years. Cynthia loved to sing and loved mentoring the youth. She was affectionately called Aunt C by the many children whose lives she touched.
Cynthia dedicated herself to a life of service. She received and Associates Degree from J. Sargent Reynolds Community College and enjoyed a career working as a gemologist for the BEST Products Corporation and later became a Regional Vice President for Primerica Financial Services Company. She lived her life always looking for ways to help others. Cynthia was known to most for her powerful voice and beautiful smile, but to her family and friends she was also known for her generous nature and outgoing spirit.
In August of 1971, Cynthia married to love hf her life, Kenneth "Ray" Pryor. to this union was born two sons, Jason Pryor and Keith Pryor. Cynthia and Ray did everything together and there was rarely a time when you saw one without the other. The loving couple were in their 49th year of marriage.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret Winston, and her siblings, Percell Winston, Jean Mallory, and Judith Mallory.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Ray Pryor; two devoted sons, Jason Pryor and Keith Pryor; two daughters-in-law, Tamara Jordan-Pryor and Sasha Pryor; one loving sister, Velma W. Winston (Frank); one brother-in-law, Clarence Mallory, Sr. "Cook"; four grandchildren, Jared (Brianna), Khalid, Tahira, and Mason; one great-granddaughter, Rilah.; devoted friend, Deborah Norris; seven nieces, two nephews, and a host of great nieces, nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends.
