Deaconess Carolyn Wyatt Bush, 76, a beloved and devoted wife, mother, sister, and educator transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on March 23, 2025, at her home in Glen Allen, VA surrounded by family. She was born on March 2, 1949, as the sixth child of 11 to the late Frederick and Clara Wyatt in Montpelier, VA.
A distinguished scholar, Carolyn graduated as valedictorian from John M. Gandy High School in 1967. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Virginia State University in 1971 and later obtained a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1988.
Dedicated to shaping young minds, Carolyn devoted 34 years at Patrick Henry High School to teaching, inspiring countless students with her passion and commitment. Her unwavering faith led her to become a lifelong member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Montpelier, VA, where she served as deaconess and held numerous positions, contributing wholeheartedly to her church family.
An avid reader and a beautiful soul, Carolyn cherished spending time with her sisters & brothers, whether traveling on bus trips or engaging in heartfelt conversations. Despite her numerous commitments to church and career, she always prioritized her family ensuring that each day was filled with love, home-cooked meals, completed homework and clean home. She truly made the most out of every day.
Carolyn was greeted in her transition by her parents; brothers, Frederick Jr. and Frager; her loving husband Ronald Sr. and several brothers and sisters-in-love. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sons, Ronald Jr. and Derek (Jena);her beloved grandson Channing; sisters, Pearl Bush, Loretta Ellis (Curtis), Eunice Jones, Alice Martin, Mary Byers and Addie Jones; brothers, Greg Wyatt Sr. (Gayle) and Keith Wyatt; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-love, and friends who became family.
