Dorothy Mae Clarke was born on February 25, 1929 to the late Charlie and Mary Frances Miles. She departed this life peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023 at Beth Shalom.

Dorothy joined Quioccasin Baptist Church at an early age. She was an active member of Quioccasin until her health failed and she held her membership there until the Lord called her home. Throughout the years, Dorothy liked doing missionary work and was honored and recognized on several occasions at Quioccasin.

Dorothy was the eldest of three daughters and served as a caregiver to her mother and sister. She was the last living Aunt and Matriarch of the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Garland T. Clarke and daughter Frances Virginia Miles Snead as well as two sisters, Florence V. (Louise) Tyler and Fannie L. Miles.

Dorothy Mae Clarke leaves to cherish her memory Mary Thomas (Alvin), Shirley Waddy (Lawrence), Gertrude Jackson (Wallace), Roberta El (James); one brother-in-law, Clyde Clarke (Beulah); and a host of great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Aunt Dorothy, we will always love you and we will keep your love alive until we meet again.  May God Be With Us All.
