Obituary

Eddie Bray Hunter answered the call of God Almighty and entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehab in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Eddie was born on November 10, 1931 to the late Robert and Susie Hunter of Caroline County. He was the second youngest of his siblings; four preceded him in death, Arlene, Matthew, Phillip Hunter and Georgia H. Chandler, his daughter Daisy Mae Fells Johnson and grandson, Clauzell Fells. Eddie was educated in Caroline County public schools. Growing up in a God-fearing home, Eddie sought the Lord and accepted Christ into his heart. He was baptized and became a member of Second Mount Zion Baptist Church. Being the man he was, Eddie hungered and thirsted after righteousness for the Word of God, which led him to become a member of Faith Landmarks Ministries in Richmond, Virginia under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Randy Gilbert. He served faithfully on the Special Detail Ministry and whenever the doors were open he was there. Eddie was employed with the Fiber-Lam Company of Doswell, Virginia for a number of years. Eddie worked at the Chickahominy Middle School where he served as a custodian until his retirement in 2011. Eddie was a quiet humble man, a devoted and loving father. He loved his grandsons, great grandchildren and his family. But most of all he loved the Lord. God gave him the spiritual gift to discern and interpret his Holy Word: so wherever he went and whoever he met, he shared with them the Word. That was the most important thing he cherished in his life, leading others to Christ. He will truly be missed, but the precious memories in our hearts shall sustain us until we meet again. Eddie leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life two grandsons Dwayne and Mario (Kimberly) Fells; five great grandchildren, Claudell, Jr., Myia, Jabria, Icesese and Claudette Fells; two sisters, Quetta Jackson and Lucille Hunter; one son-in-law, Eddie Johnson; one sister-in-law, Fannie Hunter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
