Edward Bernard Johnson's Obituary

Edward Bernard Johnson (Sue) was born on May 14,1952 in Richmond, VA at St. Phillip's Hospital. He departed this life on

Friday, May 5, 2017 at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his

loving mother Susie Jones and father Jesse James McCray, Sr.

Edward received his education in the Richmond Public School

system and attended Maggie L. Walker High School. Throughout

Edwards life, he worked in janitorial positions, transported employees

to their work site and served at the front desk at the Salvation Army.

If you knew Ed, you knew that he was a clean and neat man. He

prided himself on keeping his shoes fresh and clean. Edward was a

joy to the community. He had friends from all walks of life and you

could always count on him to make you laugh or tell you a joke. Ed

was also a huge sports fanatic, especially basketball.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Tiffany Joyner,

three sisters, Marie A. Johnson, Dianne Munir-El McCray, and Eva

McCray Burton (Thomas); four brothers, Curtis H. Johnson (Rosa),

Michael McCray, Jesse McCray, Jr., and Rodney McCray (Barbet); one

grandchild, Dakota Jones, and one living aunt, Marian Jones. In

addition, he helped to raise and was a father figure to Kevin Banks,

Missy Banks, Dashawn Miles, Derrick Daniels, Everett Daniels, and

Tina Ford. He also leaves behind a devoted nephew, Ricky, special

friends Beverly Bell, Marva Johnson, Wanda Joyner, a special friend
