On June 8, 2022, surrounded by family, Ellis Edward Harris Jr., age 94 went home to be with the Lord.

Ellis was born May 25, 1928, to the late Ellis and Mary Lou Harris. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Carter Harris, three sisters, Dorothy Bradley, Mildred Green, and Jean Harris, and one brother, Ervin Harris.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, joined Brown Grove Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board.  He was employed as a Plasterer and Drywall Installer for many years.  Twirling your ceiling and making it look pretty was something he loved to do.

On October 16, 1948, he married the love of his life Josephine Harris and from this union, six children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Annie Jones (Adolph), Deborah "Gail" Harris, four sons, Ellis III, Carnell, Leon and Jerry Harris, six grandchildren, Brian and Brandon Jones, Rico Jerome, Leon Martin, Farrah Harris and Shirelle Taliaferro (Darren), four great grandchildren, Kennedy Jones, Reese and Royce Taliaferro and Lyric Jerome, one brother in law Harry Carter Jr., two sisters in law Annie and Polly Carter and a host of nieces, nephews and many devoted family members and friends.
