Obituary

Ellsworth "Billy" Jackson, son of the late Thomas and Hester Jackson, was born July 6, 1935, in King William County. He resided in Henrico, VA until he entered into eternal life Wednesday July 12, 2023.

Ellsworth was educated in the King William County Public School system.

Ellsworth began working at an early age with Fogged, Inc. and he was employed with Massey, Wood & West for 61 years where he retired on October 18, 2018. He was also employed with the Hanover County School system.

Ellsworth joined Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age where he served faithfully until his health began to decline. He was a member of the Men's Ministry, Adult Men's Usher Board, and the Trustee Ministry.

Ellsworth loved doing yard work and he took pride in his yard. He would continuously get compliments on how well his yard was maintained. He also loved riding his motorcycle.

Ellsworth was one of 12 siblings and was preceded in death by Merrill Jackson, Arlene Johnson, Emily Kindreds, Gladys Jackson, Herman Jackson, Sr., Robert Jackson, Stanford Jackson, Sr., Julia Coley, Florine Ellis, and Ester Winston.

Ellsworth leaves to cherish his loving memory wife Flossie Jackson; four sons Ivry Spurlock (Sabrina) of Washington, DC, Ellsworth Jackson, Jr. (Angelique) of Hanover, VA, Calvin Johnson, Sr. (Susan) of Hanover, PA, and Ronald Johnson (Samantha) of Chesterfield, VA; NaShay Morrison (Jonathan), Lisa Beasley (James) and Lisa Tunstall of Henrico, VA; ten grandchildren Calvin Johnson, Jr. (Patricia), Mia Thompson (Carlito), Marisa Johnson, Breon Boswell, Ellsworth Jackson, III, Montonique Rozier (Wesley), Ivorie Moody, Jamel Spurlock (Jeriesha), Amaya and Ellise Jackson; 13 great grandchildren Monique Spurlock, Marshea Fisher, Madison Moody, Javorick Moore, Jordyn Spurlock, Kimani Jackson, Dominique Johnson, Tony Johnson, KyRoe Rozier, Calvin Johnson, III, Phoenix Johnson, Pryce Johnson, and Poem Johnson; one goddaughter Tameka Smith (Brian); four stepchildren John Stokes, Jr. (Veronica), Cathy Stokes, Jean Preston (Stanley), Karen Davis (Arthur), Stephanie Charles (Ronnie); one sister Ophelia James (Will); three sisters-in-law Virginia Johnson, Juanita Broadnax, and Mary Preston (Joe); one brother-in-law Fred (Harriet); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and step grandchildren.
