Elsie May Upshur went to meet the Lord on December 12, 2014. She was born in Louisa County, VA on June 28th 1925 to the late Arthur and Mary Yancey. She received her education in the Louisa County School District and later moved to Washington, DC where she completed her Nursing Assistant Certification and went to work at St. Elizabeth's hospital. Elsie was a loyal and faithful member of Corinthian Baptist Church for over 30 years where she loved to sing in the choir Elsie was preceded in death by her sister Virginia Chapple, and brothers Audrey Yancey and Conley Yancey. Left to love and cherish her memory is her son Reginald Upshur, Ormond Beach, FL. (Susan), Grandson, Reginald Upshur, Jr., Germany and 2 Granddaughters, Desteny Sima, Germany (Marc) and Jennifer Holmes, Denver, CO. (Chris). Also left to cherish her memory are three sisters and one brother. Ruth Mallory, Montpelier, VA, Dorothy Jackson, Ashland, VA, (Wilmar) and Marie Collins, Richmond, VA, and one brother, Danny Yancey of Virginia Beach, VA. (Ruby) Elsie left two loving and caring nieces, Theresa Cosby, Bumpass, VA and Denise Yancey, Washington, DC. Along with other numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved and cherished her two great grand children, Brenden Warner and Cory Holmes.
