Obituary

Estelle Marie Goodall was born on January 6, 1947 and transitioned peacefully at her home in Henrico County, Richmond, Virginia on November 27, 2022.  She was the ninth child of  the late Harry and Estelle  Johnson.

She  attended Caroline County  public schools.  She joined Jericho Baptist Church at an early age where she attended until she was united in marriage to John Archie Goodall  of Dawn , Virginia in 1965.  From this union two children were born.  Marie as she liked to be called was then under the Watch Care of Second Mt Zion of Dawn, Virginia until  she moved to Richmond.

Marie re-dedicated to Jericho Baptist Church and it was there that her grandson Damon and granddaughter Kyerra  was baptized and they continued to attend until  Marie's health failed.  Although  Marie survived cancer, and struggled with many other health issues she never gave up or lost her faith that the Lord would bring her through.

Marie was employed with and retired from AT&T and its Affiliates after 30 years of service.  She was a hard working woman who loved her family and would give you the shirt off her back if you asked for it.  It was not unusual at all for her nieces and nephews from DC to drop in on any weekend and stay for days.  It was also common for Teresa to arrive every Friday to hang out with Aunt Marie and her work friends.

Marie had four passions.  The Redskins, Traveling, Watching old Westerns on TV and buying the Finer Things in Life.  Her passion for shopping was so deep that even after she was no longer allowed to drive, she stole her car, not once, but twice to go shopping at the Mall but couldn't remember how to get back home.

Marie was preceded in death by three sisters Gertrude, Everdene and Thelma and one brother Harry Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters April Goodall of Dawn, VA and Forlisa Goodall of Richmond, VA; 3 grandchildren, LaTeisha Goodall, Damon Goodall, and Kyerra Anderson (James) all of Richmond, VA.  Three sisters, Essie Thomas of Ruther Glen, VA, Arlene Fox and Rosetta Hale of Washington, DC; one brother Jessie Johnson of District Heights, Md. ; eight nieces, six nephews, a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins; special friends Ressiva Lewis, Dorothy Wittlock, Sheryl Corbin, Brenda Dozier and Shirley Webb and three constant devoted friends, John Goodall, Claire Goodall and Robin Goodall.
