Obituary

Eva Elizabeth Baylor was born on September 27, 1943, to the late George and Marie Goodall. She peacefully departed this life and quietly entered eternal rest on Friday July 1, 2022, at Parham Doctors Hospital in Henrico County, Virginia

Eva attended school in Caroline County. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Second Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dawn, Virginia. She was a faithful member and attended regularly until her health began to fail. Eva was a member of the Missionary Ministry, and she loved attending church and listening to the choirs.

Eva lived in the Dawn area of Caroline County most of her life, and she was well known and loved by the entire community. She was a very generous, easygoing and kind person. She worked hard and diligently to care for her family. She even faked her age to eighteen years so that she could begin work early. Eva worked at the Supply Room in Ashland, Virginia from 2000 to 2013 when she retired. She received several awards and recognition during her employment including employee of the week and month on several occasions. Eva's greatest accomplishment while working at the Supply Room was to be the first and oldest employee to pull over one million orders. After retirement she cared for her great grandson, Pryce and great granddaughter, Emeri.

Eva enjoyed going to all the family functions and she was quite a fashionista her hair was always "fly" and in place and she wore a new outfit every time she stepped out on the scene.

In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Tyrone Theodore Baylor, Sr.; two brothers Charles and Willis Edward; one sister Georgiana Morris.

Eva leaves cherished and loving memories to one daughter Marlo Baylor; one son Tyrone (Pokie) Theodore Baylor, Jr.; one stepson Marvin Stevens (Judy); nine adoring grandchildren Tyrell, Tynaisha, Jarin, Ebony, Ashley, Donelle, Tyrone III, Kyleigh, and Marvin, Jr.; twelve great grandchildren, one goddaughter Donna (Papoose) Smithers; one god granddaughter Asia Tillman; one brother Albert Goodall (Barbara); four sisters-in-law Janet Washington (Edward), Louise Ferguson, Geraldine Baylor, and Ruth Braxton; brother-in-law Frederick Thierry (Mindy); one foster sister Viola Ross; devoted nephew Harry Amith, Jr.; devoted niece Mable (Mickey) Harris (Ernest); dedicated friends/cousin Shirley Smithers and Mamie Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Eva will be missed by her family, her friends, the community, the church and all who knew and loved her.
