Evelyn Scott Thornton Holman entered eternal rest Sunday, May 24, 2020. She was born December 19, 1937 to the late Walker, Sr., and Mary Thornton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley "Buddy" Holman, son Kelvin Holman, brothers Walker, Jr., and William Thornton.

Evelyn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church, Ashland, Virginia. She later moved her membership to Providence Baptist Church, Ashland Virginia to worship with her husband. She was educated in the Hanover County Public Schools and retired from Richmond Memorial Hospital after many years of service.

Evelyn will be remembered for her love of family, strength, warm smile, generous heart, love of flowers and the many days of loving care and devotion to her husband Buddy and other family members. She found so much pleasure in her great-grand daughter, Madison who seemed to revitalize her spirit. She was loved by family and friends and her passing leaves a great void. When called by our Savior, she went gently to her rest.

Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory two loving and devoted sons, Carl (Cathy) and Gary Holman; daughter-in-law, Linda Holman; three sisters, Beatrice Johnson, Lucille Henry and Louise Lewis, one sister-in-law, Laura Storrs (Cassell), two brothers-in-law, Larry (Mary) and Earl Holman, five grandchildren, Jeremy and Cherelle Holman, Lamont Fountain, Tonyell Coleman, James Newkirk and Aaron Harris; one great-grandchild, Madison, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
