Evelyn Louise Winston transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She was born December 4, 1943 to the late Charles Lewis Winston and Lucille Jackson Winston in Hanover County.
She accepted Christ as a child and joined Providence Baptist Church in Ashland, Virginia. Evelyn was a part of the Pastor's Aide Committee, Missionary Circle, and the hospitality committee, while she was an active member.
She was educated in the Hanover County school system, where she graduated from John M. Gandy in 1962.
Evelyn was always a hard worker, holding positions in various fields. She retired from Princess Cleaners where she worked for numerous years.
Evelyn was full of life and truly loved her family. Family and friends could always expect a birthday card on their special day addressed in her beautiful penmanship. She enjoyed dancing, watching the Young and the Restless and cooking. Her hot buttered rolls were always a staple at family gatherings. While punctuality was definitely not her strongest trait, she loved being in the midst of the fun at whatever time she arrived.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother Charles Winston and sister Doris Brown. Left to cherish her memories are her three children Randall Baylor, Karla Baylor and Keeron Brice. Son-in-law Thomas Brice. Six grandchildren Stephen Baylor, Ericka Baylor-Olujie (Chidi), Kaila Robinson, Kenny, Kolby, and Trey Brice. Great grandson Chinaza Olujie. Sisters Sallie Carter, Grace Washington (William), and Janette Alexander. Brothers Milton Winston (Jean) and Reed Winston (Lisa). One aunt Audrey Brown. A number of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends, among them devoted, Dot Anderson, Elaine Wright, and her caretaker Charlene Blake.
