Florence Virginia Edwards daughter of the late Ellwood and Irene McPherson departed this life on S unday , November 7 , 202 1 .

Floren ce, Momma, Ma, Granny, Big Granny, Sexi, or Aunt Florence as many of her loved ones would call her was the matriarch of her family.  To know her was to love her and to be loved by her. There isn't a soul who's came into contact with her that has a bad word to say about her.  And those rolls, when she was able, they came near and far just to get a taste.

Among always being a helping hand when needed and an excellent mother to her children, she was a staple in her community. Florence was employed by King William County Public Schools and provided them with 45 years of service.

She joined Rock Spring Baptist Church at an early age. Upon her union with Lessie Edwards Sr. she became a faithful member of Mangohick Baptis t Church in Hanover , VA .  Florence attended both Mangohick and Rock Spring until her health began failing.

Florence was preceded in death by h er husband, Lessie Edwards; sons, Kenneth Wayne Edwards and Ronald Lee Edwards and granddaughter,  Shanta "Nikki" Jones, and t hree siblings, Ida King, Ruth Young and Jessie McPherson.

Sh e leaves behind to cherish precious memories, t wo sons, Lessie Edwards, Jr., Alvin Lewis Edwards (Lillie); three daughte r s, C ynth ia Edwards-Banks, Teresa S ayles (Anthony), and Monica Robinson (Paul ); 20 grandchildren, 27 great grands, 2 great-great grands , and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
