Obituary

Garland Dwight Green, age 66, of Charlottesville, Virginia made his heavenly transition on July 10, 2019 at the Hospice of the Piedmont Center for Acute Hospice Care in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was born on April 17, 1953, son of the late William Henry Green and Rosa Lee James Green.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Green and William Green, Jr. and two sisters, Ann Phillips and Barbara Clinton.

Dwight was a former military man and was in high demand for his painting, drywall, and caulking skills.  If it needed doing, Dwight was the man to call.  He loved his sports, MeTV and traveling to different places.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy L. Green; three sisters, Agnes Thompson of Montpelier, Va., Edith McCowan of Washington, D.C. and Shirley White of Newport News, Va.; two brothers, Herman Green of Montpelier, Va. (Delores) and Tony Green (Keiko) of Waipahu, Hawaii; two step-children, Candice Simpson of Lovingston, Va. and Quincy Simpson of Lynchburg, Va.; one step-grandson, Ronin Bailey; three sisters-in-law, Lucille Green of Silver Spring, Md., Anita Bolden of Charlottesville, Va., and Sherry G. Edwards of Woodbridge, Va, and Craig Londeree of Charlottesville, Va. who he refereed to as "son" and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
