Garland "Dickie" Terrell, Jr., of Ruther Glen, VA departed this Earthly Life on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland Terrell, Sr. and Addie Bernice Brown Terrell. He was born on July 26, 1948. Garland was married to his lovely wife, Roberta Terrell on October 16, 1971. They were married for 42 years. He attended school in Caroline County, Virginia and later attend Patrick Henry High School in Hanover where he graduated. Garland accepted Christ at an early age and joined Oxford Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia. He had a great live for the Lord and a faith that gave him strength through his illness with grace and peace. Garland was a self- employed Contractor for many years. He worked in many positions. He was well known for his work both in state and out of state. He was employed with Potomac Contractors as a contractor in Alexandria, Virginia. When one thinks of Garland "Dickie" you think of a warm kind hearted person who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, doing yard work and always building something constructive. Garland loved his wife and family. His grandchildren were his world. He loved to dance and was good at being a comedian, always cracking jokes and full of laughs.
