Obituary

Harriet Elizabeth Banks of Montpelier, VA entered into eternal rest on February 20, 2025. She was born on March 30, 1945, to the late Hattiie Mae and James Henry Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey D. Banks Jr., six (6) siblings, Henry Coleman, Delores Gail, Warren Coleman, Thomas Coleman, Joseph Coleman and Mary Lee Wyatt.

She joined Ebenezer Baptist Church at an early age. Where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was a member of the Hospitality Committee, Missionary, she was ordained to be a Deacon on September 11, 1994, by Rev. Dr. John W. Kinney. She was honored as Mother of the Year in 1999. She loved the Lord, her church family and her pastor. Harriet was a loving, kind and giving person.

Her favorite TV shows were watching all the court cases and Walker Texas Ranger. Harriett retired from Tyson Food after 34 years of service, due to health reasons.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two devoted children; Dorine (Wesley) Jackson and Calvin Coleman, four devoted grandchildren; LaKeisha Jackson, Alisha Coleman, Carnea Coleman and Calvin Coleman, Jr., one sister; Sarah Ann Thompson, one brother-in-law; Howard Banks (Joyce), two sisters-in-law; Peggy Bowler (Jeffery) and Lucy Berkely (Carl), one devoted son-in-law/caregiver; Wesley Jackson and a host of nieces and nephews.
