Herbert Randolph Foster was born in Ruther Glen, Virginia on April 11, 1947 to the late Jennie and Thomas Foster, Sr. He was educated at Union High in Bowling Green, Va.
Herbert accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized and became a member of Mt. Oni Baptist Church where he sang with the Men's Choir. He was a dedicated employee of J. R. Tucker High School in Henrico, Virginia until he retired. He was also employed at Petro Truck Stop in Ruther Glen, Virginia.
He loved the New England Patriots. His favorite song was "Your Grave and Mercy" . His favorite saying was "yessah". He loved to have a good time.
He was a loving and dedicated father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Christine Williams, Lucille Jones, and brother, Deacon Harold Foster.
He leaves to cherish in his loving memory his son Darnell Purce of Colonial Beach, daughter, Casandra Purce of Ruther Glen; two brothers, Thomas Foster, Jr. of Ruther Glen, Henry Foster (Robin) of Ladysmith; one brother-in-law, Allen Jones, Jr. (Arlene) of Ruther Glen; one sister-in-law, Ann Foster of Ruther Glen; three grandchildren, Ja'Quan Purce, My'Lashia Purce and Skylar Purce all of Colonial Beach; three nephews, Matthew Foster (Gloria), Dwayne Foster, and Allen L. Jones; four nieces, Towanda Foster, Angela Foster, Jeannette Williams, and a devoted niece, Alicia Jones; a devoted cousin, Virginia Jones and a devoted friend, Keith Harris.
