Obituary

Hinton Oliver James Sr. (Pete) was born on September 4, 1938 and entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday January 3, 2020.   He was preceded in death by his parents Ulysses and Mattie James, his loving wife Frances B. James; four brothers Ulysses Jr., Walter, Robert, and Clarence James, and one son, Lonnie James. He attended the Henrico County Public Schools.
Hinton (Pete) retired from The City of Richmond.
Hinton accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age.  He was a member of the St. Peter Baptist Church Glen Allen Va.
In 1960, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life Frances Clarke and to this union four children were born.
Left to cherish his loving memories are his devoted three sons, Calvin James, Hinton James Jr., and Darren James; siblings John and Rose Mary James; four daughters-in-law, Veronica, Betty, Darlene, and Sherry James; seven grandchildren, Tasha Bradley (Sean), LaShawnda Wyatt, Damarcus Archer, Chelsea Brown, Daquan Trent, Dante' and Amber James, and Tiniesha Cox; five great grandchildren, Tysean Wyatt, Sean Bradley Jr., Terrell Bradley, Lashante' (Dink) Wyatt, Royall Brown and Aniya Cox, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
