Obituary

James "Ted" Evans was born on March 3,1930 to Roseberry and Julia Evans in Hanover, Virginia. Ted was an only child but had close relationships with his cousins and other family members. In March of 1951 at the age of 21, Ted enlisted in the United States Army and he served in the 7th Infantry Division and fought in the Korean War.

Ted had a vibrant personality and loved to entertain his friends. People would gravitate to him because of his sense of humor and quick wit. He loved having has daily cup of coffee with two sugars and a cold Pepsi.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jacqueline Jackson as well as his great grandchildren De'milione and Delaiha. Ted is survived by Liliie Evans; his daughters, Hope Evans-Cooper and Caroline Winston; 12 grandchildren, one devoted, LaStasha Marsh (Julian); 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He also leaves a host of other family and friends including his devoted cousin Leon Evans.

We will always remember him for his kindness, generosity, wisdom, and humor. He made a difference in the world and in our hearts. We will cherish is memory forever.
