James Tuppince Jr was called to be with his heavenly father on May 18, 2026. James was born to the late Bishop James and Emma Tuppince on September 15, 1951, in Richmond, Virginia.

He was raised in Hanover County and attended Hanover County Public Schools. He was baptized at 4 years old at Chickahominy Baptist Church.

He had a passion for the outdoors and spent much of his free time hunting and fishing. He found solace in nature and enjoyed the tranquility of the water. James was a faithful employee of ABF Freight for 25+ years and Bowman Transportation for 18 years. He was a long-time member of the Fellowship Bass Club.

James was a devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He emerged as a preeminent "helping person," willing to assist family, friends, and strangers. He will be painfully missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Junious, Clarence, and George Tuppince, sisters, Lucille Harris and Shirley Scroggins.

James leaves a loving family to cherish his memory, a devoted wife of 55 years, Diane Bagby Tuppince; Two sons, James Tuppince III (April), Lorenzo Tuppince (Yuri), and a bonus son, Rodney Boyd; grandchildren James Tuppince IV, Jameka Zamora(Julio), Jamal Tuppince(Nashaun), Jordan and Justin Providence, Javonte Tuppince, Lorenzo Tuppince Jr, Anayah Walker; great-grandchildren; Jailee Tuppince, Zae Zamora; devoted sister Barbara Johnson (Henry), and devoted friend Dennis Beck; sister-in-law, Elaine Robinson(Clarence), brother-in-law Isiah Bagby(Janice); and a host of nieces, nephews, devoted family and friends.
