Later in life, James relocated to Richmond, Virginia, where he laid the foundation for his own business as a courier. This Venture not only demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. It was during this time that he crossed paths with the love of his life, Chyril Lockhart, with whom he shared countless cherished moments.

James was not only a devoted husband but also a caring brother to Eddie L. Pitt. His role as supportive brother extended to his sist-in-law, Kimberly Cooper-Pitt, with whom he forged a bond of family that went beyond blood ties. His caring nature was also extended to his daughter, Sumer Rollins-Lockhart, whose life he enriched with guidance, love, and the wisdom that only he could impart. We would also like to acknowledge 4 of his closest friends Bobby Carter, Lori Carter, Rick Norris, Chris Uzzell.
