James MacArthur Derricott, Sr. departed this life March 3, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents Monroe and Iretha Derricott, daughter Kimberly Derricott and brothers Melvin, Wilbur, and Danny Derricott.

"Jimmy" is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen Nicholas Derricott; daughter Aleta (James) Lewis, son, James Derricott, Jr.; five grandchildren, Donte Hunter, Taikneka Brown, LaToya Derricott, Aleta Reed, and Jayla Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Kimberly Toles, Shykhai Childs and Shymhar Childs; six brothers Lloyd (Vita), Curtis (Ruby), Lorenzo (Sandra), Gerald, Dennis (Susan) and Donald (Adrienne) Derricott; two sisters, Symeanar (Carol) Smith and Brenda (Everette) Spindle; three aunts, Laura Johnson of Gumtree, VA, Thelma Mack of Norfolk, VA, Patricia Cary and Helen Derricott of Ruther Glen, VA; mother-in-law Bertha Nicholas; brothers-in-law Dwight (Teresa), David (Sandra), and Thomas (Virginia) Nicholas; sisters-in-law Elsie Derricott, Frances Kenney, Virginia Woodson, Lavinia Morris, and Eloise Miller; devoted friends Lewis Smithers, Michael Cary, Keith Cary, and Gene Bracey; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the Hunting Club and the Backyard Boys Racing Club.
