Obituary

James Edward Temple was born on July 26, 1937 to the late Elizabeth Temple.  He entered eternal rest on March 6, 2020 at the age of eighty-two. He attended King William Public Schools. James was joined in holy matrimony to Jean C. Temple on March 27, 1965. He retired from APAC-Virginia, Inc. (currently known as Branscome Inc.) after over 40 years of dedicated service.

James joined Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He was faithful member of the Usher's Ministry, Men's Ministry (Brotherhood Club), and Trustee Ministry. James loved spending time with his family. James was affectionately known by some of his family members as, "Morgan", "Diamond", and "Diange".

James loved to watch baseball and football.  His favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Redskins. You could find him "fussing" at the TV regularly, whenever his games were on. He was the former President of the King William Truck Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing until his health began to fail. He was known for wearing his "Kangol" hats and his "creative" dance moves.

James had a special relationship with his great-great nephew, Kenshawn "KJ" Washington. KJ lived next door to James and they had a "Dennis the Menace and Mr. Wilson" relationship. They could not go without seeing each other for two days, but when they did they argued. KJ would ride his bike through James' garden and James would yell at him to get out. KJ would just smile and keep riding. This was one of the many ways they expressed their love for one another.

James was preceded in death by his wife Jean C. Temple, step-father Robert Temple, siblings Amos Temple and Flora Temple, and great-grandchild Jayla Luke.

James leaves to cherish his precious memories devoted daughters, Jill Anderson (Calvin Taylor), Janella Temple, and Jennifer Temple; grandchildren, Jovia, Janay, and Jayvon Temple, and Austin Anderson; great-grandson, Jahlil Temple; brother Henry Temple Sr. (Iva); aunt, Gladys Dabney; sisters-in-law, Gloria Hawkins and Carolyn Vessels; brother-in law Donald Morrow; a host of nieces, nephews, devoted, Henry Temple Jr., Lydell Washington; cousins,  devoted, Edith Morrow, Julia Wilkerson, Otis Hill, Emmett Wilkerson Jr., and Gary Wilkerson and friends, devoted, Vivian Berkeley, Wyoming Jackson and his friends at American Renal Associates.
