James Edward Williams, known to some as "Eddie" departed this life Friday, September 22, 2023, at St. Francis Hosptial in Midlothian, Virginia at the age of 71.
He was born September 4, 1952, in Burkeville Virginia to the late James and Mollie Williams. At an early age he was baptized and joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Burkeville, Virginia.
James attended Nottoway County public schools and after finishing school he worked for a local Shell station. Upon leaving the Shell Station James relocated to Richmond where he was employed by Westvaco Milk Carton Division. After leaving Westvaco he worked for the public school system as a custodian until his health began to decline.
James met and married the love of his life Sylvia of Ashland, Virginia on August 31, 2018.
James was preceded in death by his parents James and Mollie Williams; his son Shareef Williams; two brothers Alvin and Joseph Williams; three brothers-in-law' two sisters-in-law; and his father-in-law.
James leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of four years Sylvia; one daughter Tasha Hamilton; two bonus daughters Gabriel and Keedra Reeders; four granddaughter Aiyanna, Aylaa, Dionee, and Joy; ten grandsons Tyquan, Jaquis, Tavell, Damond, Sean, Trinity, Anthony, Damien, Ayden, and Jameer; four sisters Hattie Divens, Barbara Diggs, Mable Dodson (David), and Vanessa Carroll; one brother Russell Williams; mother-in-law Carolyn Mills; one brother-in-law Raymond Mills, Jr., and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, among them devoted friends Carlton Miller, Kent Lee, Walter Webster, Marvin Lee, Roy Kirby, Clarence Jackson, Micky Kirby, and the friends of "The Bottom".
