Janice Denise Smithers went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2019.  She was 63 years old.

Janice was born in Caroline County, Virginia.  She was employed at Kings Dominion for many years.  Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to music in her downtime.

Janice dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was an active member of Second Mount Zion Baptist Church until her health declined.

She spent the latter years of her life under the dedicated care of the staff at Carriage Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation.  While there she often enjoyed attending social events such as bingo and church services. She also enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.   She was beloved by all and known for her quick wit.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Maria Smithers and her sister Ernestine Williams.  She leaves behind to cherish her memories two beloved sons, Prentiss and Keith (Stephanie), 9 grandchildren Jamar Jones, Jahnese, Albani, Preneashea, Jalen, Alana, Jacob, Noah and Nathan Smithers, Three sisters Hilda Smithers, Bernetta Lewis, and Penelope Washington (Ervin), one brother Raymond Smithers, brother -in-law Wayne Williams and aunt Nettie Green along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
