Obituary

Judy May Johnson-Scott entered into eternal rest, in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 18, 2015, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Donald Scott Sr; parents, Earnest Wesley Johnson Sr and Addie Bell Harris Johnson; brother, Earnest (Joe) Wesley Johnson Jr. She was 1 of 6 siblings. Judy was born on December 12, 1950 in Caroline County, VA. She was educated in the Caroline County Public School System. She obtained her pharmacy certifications at the tender age of 50. She was employed, for a number of years, as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, most recently at Omnicare Inc, Henrico, Va. She was a devoted and faithful member of First Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Dawn, Virginia. Judy expressed love and devotion for her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was the Matriarch of the Scott family. She was a strong role model, showing us all how to love, unconditionally, with patience, positivity and grace. She enjoyed hosting and opening up her home for many family gatherings and prepared her infamous potato salad, for almost every family and church event. It brought her great joy in cooking for her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, 2 daughters; Rhonda Scott and Robin Scott (Linwood), and 1 son; Donald Scott. 3 sisters; Betty Morris (McArthur), Paulette Johnson and Addie Long (Maurice). 4 grandchildren; Teondra Scott, Whitney Ligon (Darrell), Wesley Hill and LaShawn Scott. 6 great grandchildren; Teasia Baylor, Justin Hill, Maliyah Kelly, Jakari Scott, Jordyn Ligon and Jakiyah Scott. 3 aunts; Virgina Gregory, Edith Williams; and Marie Fells; 1 uncle, Curtis Harris Sr., 1 sister in law Betty Baylor and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. One of the greatest joys in her life was the time she spent with her children grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would affectionately call each one "my darling" and made them each feel extra special. They each would say "My NaNa" as if they did not have to share her. NaNa's lullaby, originated many years ago, has passed down to each generation, now being hummed by a one year old, to her doll.
