Julia Ella Dendy, 83, of Ashland, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Friday January 6, 2023.

Julia was predeceased by the love of her life, Willie M. Dendy Sr., her daughter, Francine Dendy, her son Willie M. Dendy Jr., her grandsons Timothy Dendy Jr., Elijah Dendy and her 4 siblings.

Julia was born on December 2, 1939, to the late Mitchell and Sophie Lewis. She attended Hanover County Schools and was a resident of the Brown Grove community.

Julia was employed by the Ashland Shirt Factory, Stuart Circle Hospital and she also worked as a secretary for her husband's company, Atlee Concrete, from which she retired.

Julia was a member of Brown Grove Baptist Church where she gave her life to Christ at a young age. While attending Brown Grove, she served on the Hospitality Committee and the Usher Board.

Julia loved spending time with family. She loved her many conversations she would have on her phone laughing and catching up with her friends. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and taking in the sunshine while waving at the cars from her front porch.

Julia leaves to cherish her memory sons, Timothy W. Dendy Sr., Kenneth L. Dendy, 8 grandchildren, Christian Dendy (Sharonne), Michael Dendy (Jen), Zishun Spindle Dendy (Sharice), Alonzo Dendy (Fawn), Yasmine Dendy, Kynadi Dendy, Antonio Graham and Antoine Graham (Dawn); 23 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Catherine Jones, brothers-in-law, Earl Dendy and George Dendy, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, several devoted, Delores, Audrey Lee, Marie and Annie.
