Kenneth Leslie
Good
March 29, 1948 – October 25, 2019
Mr. Kenneth Leslie Good was born to the late Helen Lomax Martin and Leslie Good on March 29, 1948 in High Point, NC. He was also preceded in death by one grandchild; sister, Helen Good Harrison; three brothers, Harold Lomax, Barry Martin and Alvin Martin.
Kenny was fondly called "Les Looney" by his high school classmates of 1967. He was known for his track and field, football and great swimming skills. Just ask anyone who knew about the Washington Terrace swim team. He was known to his swim mates as "Champ". Just last week he said he had just completed 25 swim laps (believe what you wish-smile). If swimming pools are in Heaven, he will be in one. He taught his children to swim before they could walk.
In 1958, he was baptized at the old historical First Baptist Church in High Point, under the leadership of Pastor E.W. Elliot. Kenny continued his Baptist faith into his adult life.
Kenny joined the USS Navy and served on the USS Cleveland with an honorable discharge.
In 1972, Kenny and Betty Taylor married and from this union were two children, Tiffany G. (Benjamin) Simmons and Nyrobi D. (Kissy) Good; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren all of High Point, N.C.
Later Kenny moved to Richmond, VA where he met and married his current wife, Lillian Avealo Good. From his current union two children were born, Jasmine Good of the US Army, Georgia and Kenneth Good of the US Army, Kentucky. Other survivors include two sisters, Mary G. (Jimmy) Bates and Josephine Good (Charles deceased) Steele; beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, LaVesta "Booty" Washington, Wayne Lilly, James (JR) Roberts and many more. He was loved by his extended family, Diana Martin, Renee Smith, Dean Smith, Anthony Johnson and his second, "Mother", Ma Thelma Horne.
Funeral service will be held Friday, November 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 753 E. Washington Drive, High Point, NC 27260. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
