Lamar Ronelle Brooks, 35, of Richmond, Va. entered into heavenly rest on January 7, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Christine and Leon Berry, Sr. and paternal grandparents Deaconess Mozelle and Deacon Ernest Brooks, Sr.

As a youth he played basketball for Squires Richmond Education Foundation.  He played youth football for Virginia Randolph.  He graduated from Huguenot High School in 2003 where he played football.  He attended Hudson Valley Community College where he played football.  He also coach for Squires Richmond Education Foundation for 5 years.  He coached for Team Assist for 1 year directed by Coach Duran Carter. Through these 2 organizations he worked with and touched many of the area youth.  He instructed and encouraged them and help them to obtain scholarships.

Lamar loved his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor. If he cared about you, you became his family. He had a big heart and would do anything he could to look out for you.

Lamar leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents Floyd and Michelle Brooks, two devoted children Amarri Hunter, Janasia Brooks; loving special friend Mesha Donawa; one brother Xavier Michael Brooks; godmother Robin Johnson-Williams; three aunts Leontyne Berry, Miriam Berry, and Robinette Brooks; four uncles Leon Berry Jr., Frankie Berry, Nathan Berry and Ernest Brooks Jr.; aunts, and uncles; cousins and other family and friends.
