A time to be born/ A time to learn…

Lena Louvenia Jackson Ross was born May 2 2, 1929 in Madison County, Virginia to the late John Andrew Jackson and Fannie Dade-Jackson.  Mom was one of five children in her family; (Mable, Catherine, John and Raymond) and was the last of that generation.  Lena was educated in the public school system in Madison, Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray Julius Ross and two sons, Roger Jackson and Clyde Foster.

A Time to Worship…

Lena accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Rockhall Baptist Church, Wolftown, VA.  She married Ray Ross in 1964 and moved her membership to Second Mt. Zion in Hanover, VA. She was a member of the Victoria Memorial Choir.  Later in life, she joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Arlington, VA.

A Time to have Fun …

Lena loved traveling and enjoying special occasions with her family and friends.  She was known for her fried chicken, potato salad and homemade rolls.  Her granddaughter Tia wanted to learn how to make those rolls.

A Time to Rest…

On Friday, March 12, 2021, our hearts were saddened by the loss of our beloved mother, Lena Louvenia Jackson Ross, 91 years old. She was a wonderful mom; kind, generous and a joy to be around.

A Time to Remember…

Lena leaves to cherish her memory, four adoring and loving daughters: Betty Robinson (Alton), Barbara Robinson, Doris Ross-Jones (Ronald), Robin Ross-Randle (James).  Her sons-in-law were like sons to her.  She had two daughters-in-law, Kathy Foster (Clyde deceased) and Mabel Jackson (Roger deceased) and a sister-in-law, Viola Ross;  11 grandchildren: Kevin, Stacey, Tia, Eddie, Shatara, Latoya, Lawrence, Harrison, Fabian, Jalexia & Semitria, 18 great grands, several nieces, (one niece, Anna Jackson who lived with her), nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives, friends and her Pollard Street family.
