Obituary

On Thursday March 29, 2018, God called Leonard Ferrell into eternal rest. He was born to the late Eugene and Amy Rebecca Ferrell on June 16, 1937 in Hanover County, Virginia.  He was preceded in death by his sister Pauline Green (Thomas 'Rat' Green).  At an early age he gave his life to Christ and was baptized and became a member of the Bethany Baptist Church.

Leonard attended Hanover County Public Schools and graduated from John M. Gandy High School in 1955.  He was employed by Richfood, Inc. for many years and then he went into business for himself first as Ferrell's Ice Company and later as a self-employed plumber.  He was well known in the Montpelier community helping neighbors with their plumbing and heating issues.  Once his health started to fail and he could no longer work he started his rose garden; roses of every color.  He would get up early every morning before the sun and prune and manicure those roses.  They were his pride and joy.

Leonard leaves to cherish his memory, children, Leonard E. Ferrell, Robert A. Ferrell (Millicent), Vera L. Ferrell, Yvette T. Thomas (Sherman), Amanda D. Ferrell and Melissa A. Ferrell.  Grandchildren,  Brandon, Morgan, Joshua, Robert and Alicia Ferrell; Brian and Shawn Thomas, and Brittni Walker.  Ten Great Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
