Mr. Leroy Henry, son of the late Charlotte Henry Latney, was born in Hanover County, Virginia on March 3, 1928, and departed this life on February 26, 2017.
Mr. Henry joined Shiloh Baptist early on where he was a faithful and devoted member until his death. He was a Deacon, a member of the men's choir, the Willing Workers and the Masonic Lodge. He worked for Randolph Macon college and retired as a mail carrier for A. H. Robins. He also participated in the civil rights march in Washington D.C.
He was united in holy matrimony with Tama Henry. To this union, one child was born. Mr. Henry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. A hardworking man, he was admired and loved by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son Harold (the late Bernadine) Sr; three grandsons, Harold Jr, Ge-Rard and Marcus (Sarita); six great-grandchildren, Ge-Rard Jr., Devon, Aaron, Harmony, Myles and Morgan; brothers-in-law, James (Mary) Henry, Willie(Joyce) Latney and Lester Latney; sisters-in-law, Daisy (the late Wilbur) Peterson, Charlotte (Aubrey) Winston and Gladys (Conway) Cooper; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a close devoted friend of the family, Rosa Stevens.
