Leroy
Rollins
January 26, 1946 – August 20, 2023
"Let not your heart be troubled ye believe in God, believe in me."
Early Sunday morning, August 20, 2023, God selected from His chosen laborer my husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and brother, Leroy Rollins who silently and peacefully entered into his eternal rest at his residence.
LEROY was born January 26, 1946, to the Late Allen and Mary Ann Lee Rollins. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Geraldine Morris, Loubertha Wright, Mearline Morris, brothers, Clarence and Allen Jr. Rollins, foster brother, Jesse Banks.
He received his education in the Caroline County School System. At an early age he accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined the Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He later moved his membership and worship with his wife at First Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
He was employed for many years at National Sliding Doors and Frame Company and Dispersion Specialty Inc. He was an avid Washington Redskin (Commanders) fan. No matter if they won or lost, they were his team. He love to deer hunt, when company came to visit, he took them to see his trophy of deer's mounted over his fireplace. Long lazy summer days, you could find him on a pond or the riverbank fishing or outside sitting on his screen in deck sleeping. Just remember all shut eyes aren't sleep. His favorite saying was "You look just like your mother, that's for sure."
Leroy loved life. He did not do much talking, being married to a Harris girl. He loved his two sons, Travis and Troy and when Trevor came along, he would always say that he is blessed. He supported his family in whatever they chose to do. As an extension of raising his own children, he opened his home to our great nephew Damian, showering him with the same kind of love and support that he gave his own children. Here comes the love of his life, his great granddaughter, Tacori Rollins. Being the best father that he could be, did not take away from the loving brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor that he was.
July 4, 1970, he was united in holy matrimony to LaDell (Dell) Harris. To this union two sons were born, Travis and Troy. He truly loved his wife and his family. His life is truly a beautiful memory to all of us. We shall always remember his kind, sweet spirit.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, La Dell, two sons, Travis and his wife, Glendora and Troy Rollins. One grandson, Trevor Rollins, one great granddaughter, Tacori Rollins, great nephew, Damian Banks. Brothers, G. Jimmy and Ernest Rollins, Sisters, Irene Morris, Blanche/Leon Jones, Emily Baylor, Marcia Washington and Elaine/Alvin Mines. Sisters and brothers in law: Keith/Velma, Lynda/Darnell Green, Deborah/Marty Green, Mark/Myra Harris, Bonnie Bowler and Wayne Harris. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
